Abstract

The author carried out liver function tests in a sample sized 82 from healthy, adult male Korean. The data were analyzed statistically to estimate normal values of the items observed and to elucidate correlations between some pairs of two items in this population. The results thus obtained were summarized as follows:
1. The 95% limits of the values of serum total protein, albumin, and globulin are 6-:.3gm/dl, 35gm/dl, and 2-4gm/dI, respectively, and those of A/G ratio 1.0-2.4:1.
2. The 95% limits of the values of thymol turbidity, and alkaline phosphatase are 2-7 M. U. and 0-8 S-J U., respectively.
3. The 95% limits of the values of total, direct, and indirect bilirubins are 0. 35-1. 0 mg/d1, 0.0.35mg/dl, and 0.20-0.75mg/dl. respectively.
4. The 95% limits of the values of SGOT and SGPT are 5-50 S-F U. and 5-35 S-F U., respectively.
5. There is negative correlation between serum albumin and globulin concentrations, and positive correlation between SGOT and SGPT and between SGPT and alkaline phosphatase.
